The District council shares borders with Makambako TC and Mufindi DC (Iringa region) in the North, Morogoro region in the East, Njombe Town council on the South, Ruvuma region on the South west and Wangingómbe district council to the west. Though Njombe district is rural based but tremendous speed of destination growth gives clear future for tourism growth, hence more accommodation facilities need to be of more advancement by insure that different investors are encouraged to invest in this segment. Accommodations that provide value for money are important to the satisfaction of a visitor and the overall reputation of a destination. Mechanisms to ensure quality and market pricing in hotel development should be identified and implemented. The mix of incentives and tax burdens on the accommodation sector should be designed to promote high quality accommodations at fair prices.
Most of the colleges that offer tourism courses in Njombe have no much course in the international language. There is an opportunity to invest much on languages as the tool of communication between tourist and services providers. More languages will increase multilingual professionals in the sector.
This is also another investment opportunities in Njombe as most of the tourist need to buy some small gift as the memory of their safaris in Tanzania. As Tanzania being famous in Makonde carving there is a need to diversify it by encouraging people who relies on that business to focus on it as one of the tourist product in this southern circuit
